I'm planning on making a day of it. Pattern runs in the AM and hopefully thermals in the PM.

Re: Highland - tomorrow Oct 1
Took the only flight of the day that lasted a little under 40 min (including Zack’s tow to 2,500). The morning was blown-out and the surface winds did not diminish until they finally switched to the west at around 2:30. Spent most of the flight trying to stay in small cores of lift and found only one that gave me 300 ft/min up for more than two consecutive medium banked 360s. I left one thermal intentionally approximately a quarter of a mile southeast of the airport (not ready for XC). I climbed back up to the release altitude just once about halfway through the flight. By my standards, it was a great day, however, it would have been better if there were others out there carving up the same thermals.
