Batman Returns

Well, I got off my butt today and took my Talon down to Steve Wendt. He broke it down with me and we went over it pretty good. One leading edge was broken in half, the other had a good dent in it so we decided to replace that as well. One batten pocket was blown out, flying wires and 2 battens needed replacing but the sail was in pretty damn good shape for going thru a tree. Looks like it will take a couple of weeks to get the parts in and get it back in ship shape condition, but I should be back in the air towards the later part of the month or once I return from 4th of July Vacation. The other good news was there was nothing wrong with my parachute so Steve is repacking it which saves me from having to buy another.

The mental side is 90% healed, although I think I'll be spending most of my flying time this summer out at the Tow Park. Rik Neihaus landed out at Fenwick Beach, DE last weekend while I was trying to catch a nap out on the beach. It was enough of a charge to get me motivated to get my butt back up in the air. No way I can fly to the beach if my glider is grounded in the garage. I plan on doing some foot launch practice down at Taylor sometime this summer to get my feet back under me and maybe I'll venture into the mountains late Summer / Fall time, but for now I think its a big leap just getting back up into the air. Look forward to seeing you out at the Tow Parks.

P.S. The glider looks good on my new Jeep!
