Saturday 9/19

Post by Ashley Groves »

I was looking at the weather and I think I may be able to get out of dodge this Saturday. Cold front approaching SAt AM according to ADDS surface progression charts but with sunshine. Could be good. A good day to dress warm, that is.

But I see Gary has posted about Gary's beach...

Dan Tuckwiller and I are heading to the SAC early (birds get the worm). Timing is everything and earlier looks better than later.

Yup, I'm no weather guru, but it does look like a NE (even E) flow might set up in the afternoon. Best not to doddle I think ;)

Ok, enough from the peanut gallery.
Have fun out there.

I'm a newbie just looking to watch until I start my paragliding lessons (currently trying to set that up with local instructors). I could also help with rides if need be. Is this premature, or are the sites exclusive?

Watch this space, Matt. Will some go to Gary's Beach for a morning flight? Will others go to Bill's Hill for a morning of cleanup followed by an afternoon of soaring? Let's see how the conversation goes.

OK, I've got the club weed-whacker. And the temps look favorable for brush clearing. Who else is up for an afternoon flight at Bill's?

Matt, I pm'd directions to Bill's to you.

Didn't get there early enough to the SAC, even though I was there at 9:30A and ready to go by 10:30A. By the time I got up on the mound it had backed down to almost nothing. Wowed a few spectators with a good launch and a sledder. The rest of the pilots, Joe and Karen Gorrie, Dan Tuckwiller, Keith Olena, Dave Black, and Ashley Groves ended up breaking down and not flying. Shoulda been there at sunup  !
