If the weather's crap here (Ridgely), I'll come down.
(Strong NE shuts us down)

If it's flyable here though, I gotta work :(

You have to get there early unless you are flying a bag. Probably will only be soarable for HG until noon. That's why I am heading there tonight.

Gary,

I looked it up on a map but I would like to get exact directions to get to the takeoff for PG.

I'm very interested to discover this piece of magic next to the potomac!

Pretty sweet if you got into the air early enough. Early enoughs were Gary, Glen, Skip Brown and Tom C. Lazlo and I were in the too late category. But hey, gorgeous day. Flew the HG and PG.

Magic site!
Thanks Jim for directions and Gary and your parents for the access!
My family enjoyed being on the beach, much better for them than being on Flattop or Bills.

Got a good night's sleep Fri night in cabin 2 after having faced the drive from He!! through DC. Got up at 5:30 am and set up the glider by braile in the dark. Finished at dawn. 12-15 straight in and smooth as silk. Walked past cabin 8 and a couple were having coffee so I asked if they would help me launch. They both were very excited to help out. Must have been the age (early 20s) coffee and mt. Dew. Launched just after sunrise and got 2.5 hrs and 800 over. Lots of bald eagles and the tide was going out so life was good. Saw the Patuxent river from the Bay for the first time. Landed at Flag Harbor marina on the beach and broke down on a nice grassy area. Walked back to launch to find Steve, Skip and Glen. Steve let Skip fly his glider and he had a great launch and flight. He landed a bit early to let Steve fly but but by the time Steve set up to fly it had backed down to sled ride city. Glen launched just after Steve and I thought he would never come down. I kept hearing a loud whistle. I was not sure where it was coming from until Glen landed and said he was whistling at the bald eagles to see their reaction. It is wierd how sound travels from above. While I was flying I was yelling down at my dad as he was walking to the his truck to get the mail. He said he was looking everywhere but up. Tom and Laslo arrived after noon and it was not sorable for HG and marginal for PG but Tom managed a great flight and Lazlo fought the good fight but had a couple of gravity storms for his efforts. Great to see everyone having such a good time at the beach.
