PG pilot from Russia needs help

Post by oleg.shelikhov »

Hello Everybody!

My name is Oleg, I am paragliding pilot from Russia. Now I am at business trip in the USA. I stay in Fairfax, VA until September, 19. I would like to meet USA paragliding pilots, rent equipment and fly during a weekend.

Can anybody help me?

I fly since year 2000. By now I took part in several PG competitions in Russia and Europe. This is my FAI ranking:

Now I fly on Airwave Magic-4. Unfortunatelly I leave it at home:(

Looking forward for your answer! My phone number in the USA is +1781 346 50 67

I don't know of anyplace in or around DC that rents paragliding wings. If you can find someone to lend you one, there's plenty of local sites to come fly with us.

Hi Oleg,

Some of the area PG pilots make use of a Yahoo group, in addition to these forums.

I am not *completely* sure, but I think that the URL is:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmv_pg/

If you don't get feedback here, you might want to give the group a try.

Cheers,

The reason Oleg is not getting feedback is because nobody has anything helpful to add. There is just no renta-PG gear around here :-(
I have an old Arcus (OLD: first generation) I could lend out (not sure anyone would want to use it except for kiting maybe), but no harness, no reserve...

p.s. This forum *is* being read by the PG pilots. There are not many of us, so the PG traffic is negligible. This *is* the correct place to ask for info and contact PG pilots though.

I might be able to help.
My gear's a bit far, but if we can work out the logistics, I'm sure there's some way we can get him in the air.
Beats sitting around and not flying.
