High Rock; Steps, Grate, and Cats (Galore!)

Post by Danny Brotto »

The steps leading up to the cube at HR are in need of some attention. The fist step has washed out and is unusable. In fact when we were there a few weeks ago, the pilots had to walk around the steps to get to the cube!

I’m not a construction guy and am unsure what the best approach would be to address this; pour more concrete, build a wooded ramp in place of the steps, pile rocks are all possibilities. I’m willing to help and contribute but we need a plan from someone “in the know” as to what would be the most appropriate solution.

More cats. After the humanitarian efforts and contributions of a number of members to “fix” the horde of black cats at the Carbaugh residence, a few weeks ago I saw a batch of “new” ones. These are long hairs, really feisty/cute, mostly grey/patterned ,and seemingly unrelated to black ones from the previous lot. Mrs. Emma Jane said they just showed up. Just the reporter…

Also regarding the thread a few months ago about removing the nose man grate, yesterday over the course of 1/2 hour, I witnessed 2 separate instances of yahoos jumping off the cube onto the grate w/o looking first. One of them actually then draped his shirtless body over the grate to sunbathe (it wasn’t pretty) with his eyes closed! Sheesh!

So, how was flying at the Rock? Pulpit turned out to be pretty good.

Cat orgy part 2.

This humanitarian effort must not die. We need more volunteers to catch and sterilize those cats. It is of utmost importance that Emma Jane continues feeding them so they won't suspect anything when we appear with drop traps and sympathy.

The risk of running cats over on our way to the LZ has become a very serious one. We need to act swiftly and prevent such atrocities at all costs.

Since the mass running-over of cats would interfere with our activity and decimate the good spirit of each of our pilots, I have authorized the release of $3000 worth of club funds on hiring a cat whisperer, traps, food and genetically modified mice (locomotion impediment). The Obama administration will support this relevant, shovel-ready project with another $3000 from the stimulus package. We can do it. Let's do it.

Who will help?

I heard through the grapevine you guys want to have a real party, one which I wasn't welcome to.

Christy Huddle called the state department and homeland security telling them I had something big planned with my HG. Carlos bought the plane ticket and, to my biggest disappointment, cut the sail of my glider with a kitchen knife.

How could you, Carlos?

I thought you wanted it short packed.

Just got a little impatient.

(For the ticket we had a collection)
