Janni's Farewell Party
Janni’s Farewell Party
Janni, our outgoing activist and live wire CHGPA president, is returning to Germany in
early September, and we are hosting a farewell party for him and Leonie at 6:30 pm on
22 August: 1213 Firth of Lorne Circle, Fort Washington, MD 20744.
I will supply pizzas; guests bring their drinks of choice. Just let me know by 21 August
if you will come and what kind of pizza you like. (johndullahan@comcast.net or 301 203
8281)
Janni has already short-packed his glider, so if we fly with him before he leaves, it will
have to be on a borrowed or rented wing.
BTW, Mike Chevalier is in town and I will bring my Litesport 4 for him to fly at Ridgely
tomorrow, 17 August. So if any of you who knew him want to fly with us, that’s where
we will be.
Regards,
John

Thanks so much for hosting, John! I would be there without fail - but alas will be away on vacation. Many thanks to Janni for all his contributions to the club(s)! - Hugh

Damn! We can't make it, either. I guess, Janni, this means you won't make it to the HR fly-in. I thought that might be the site of the big goodbye.
You sure you want to go back to Germany? You'll have to learn to fly in metric.

Hoping to be there. It's not purple Lightspeed... but Janni is welcome to fly my Discus anytime. It's presently at Highland.

Can't ya hang out for just a couple more weeks Janni? Then I would make the party without fail. Um...are you flying direct or do you have a long layover in new york?

Janni;
I am sorry to see you go, but also a little jealous of all the new flying sites open to you.
August 22 is my daughters 8th birthday, so you will have to forgive me missing the party.

Hey Shawn, of course the offer still stands. As I hope yours does. Shoot me your email address to jpapakrivos@gmail.com.
Thanks everyone for coming. It was fun. Special thanks to John for hosting and for his kind and funny speech. Despite his somewhat old-fashioned ideas of modern Germany (if I ever noticed the need of authority figures to be respected/admired/worshiped it was in this country) he's been a great guy, a dear and generous friend and one tough Irish son-of-a-b*tch! That letter signed by everyone will be framed and hung up on a wall. Totally love it.
