Re: Pulpit Saturday
Bacil, what happened at the Pulpit last Saturday? We flew High Point after mowing/cutting launch and the set-up area, but rather than the predicted NW 5 - 10 mph wind, it was L&V (and blowing OTB at times) so everyone ended up taking straight sleds to the LZ.
Re: Pulpit Saturday
Last Saturday I got there around noon. Denis Scheele was setting up. It was blowing in light, switching north cross then straight. I set up and then watched Ellis and Lazlo (sp?) plummet. Around 3:30 I launched an scratched around in the trees for about 15 min. Denis followed and had a similar flight. Ellis then embarrassed the HG pilots by getting up for an hour(?).

Hey, I actually got 300 feet over on my first flight!
(Okay, so I plummeted shortly after that.)
Second flight was to almost 3000 feet over and about 1.5 hour, very surprising as it was late in the day and I had expected a sled and was dressed accordingly. brrrr... Not that I'm complaining.
Third flight was 30 feet over.
Three flights, 30 feet, 300 feet, 3000 feet, it was a good day for the number 3. No sleds.

(fudged a little on the second flight to make the number 3. it was only about 2500 feet over)

Re: Pulpit Saturday
Btw, no embarrassment necessary. It was the kind of day where you had to have a superslow aircraft. Maybe a falcon or a target could have done something with it.
