Ridgely today, Sunday

Post by RedBaron »

A lot of fun. Tows were kinda sh*tty given how light the lift was and I'm kinda getting too beefy again. Went up twice for two 45 min flights. Couldn't get higher than 3500' over, didn't want to sit in an LZ for hours so I stayed local. They had a big group out there but luckily both tugs were in operation so wait time was minimal to non existant. Bunch of guys went XC but I think only one pilot kicked butt again raking in 50+ miles. He sold his soul to Satan, so I guess you all know now who that pilot is :D

Was a good day, though as mentioned, the day divided the air-haves from the air-have-nots. A few unfamiliar faces, mostly kick-ass pilots leftover from the comp. Lots of tandems today, but... Wohoo! Two tugs again. For the most part, tugs were waiting on us :-) There was lift to be had... I nearly popped off the tug and released into a thermal that took me to (FAA mandated distance below) cloudbase! Drifted downwind with it a bit but couldn't find anything else good on the way back. Ridgely flying is looking real good for the rest of the summer.
