Re: Pulpit Launch: Revised Proposal
Janni, I assume you mean the start date is Wednesday, May 13th.
BTW, I'm seeing contributions coming in to replenish the Pulpit account. Thanks to those who've contributed so far.

Yes, I do.
Great Shawn, I'll put you down for Friday morning, thank you so much. Please familiarize yourself with the diagrams and let's talk real soon about the details. Thanks man.

Re: Pulpit Launch: Revised Proposal
Five contributors have sent checks totaling $530 so far. Very impressive!
BTW, the CHGPA name is on the Pulpit bank account (as is MHGA). CHGPA is a non-profit 501(c)(3), so I'll leave it to you and your tax preparer to decide if your contribution is tax-deductible.

Re: Pulpit Launch: Revised Proposal
Start date postponed to this coming Monday or Tuesday due to weather-related delays.
Still looking for volunteers who could make an afternoon free to help supervise. Shawn, you still available?
Thanks

Re: Pulpit Launch: Revised Proposal
Jeryl called. He'll start tomorrow morning, 7 am. I'll be there to guide them but need volunteer supervisors for Thursday and Friday, any time. Just for an hour or two to make sure they've got somebody to talk to in case questions arise. Glen and Gregory let me down, so please, please, please, help!
Shawn, want to be there in the morning so I can talk you through everything? Perhaps the clubs will spring breakfast for us

Re: Pulpit Launch: Revised Proposal
Does anyone have Keith Ford's or Rich Bloomfield's number? They live up that way and could possibly help on Thursday of Friday. How about the retirees-- Steve and Christy???

Re: Pulpit Launch: Revised Proposal
Thanks for the pictures and thanks for being there, Shawn.
The new takeoff area is not an improvement of what was in place. It's a whole new ballpark and will exceed your highest expectations.
By taking advantage of buried rocks and boulders that were not visible upon inspection we managed to significantly increase the steepness of the pad approaching 1:3 halfway down the run, getting progressively steeper beyond that matching the slope of the drop-off area.
Rocks and boulders were shoved down, piled up and flattened for not only making a massive retaining wall (dam is more like it) but also allowing for an impressive extension of the pad that I didn't think was possible. I think we've added 15 feet or so.
You can launch from there by rolling down on the wheels now.

Wowsa! if I weren't heading for Hyner I'd dash for the Pulpit...wind looks good there too. Maybe those who are coming up from the south can get a flight in along the way.

Re: Pulpit Launch: Revised Proposal
That's fantastic news. We had some off-line consternation over the start date, but it looks like that's all behind us.
I want to thank again those who've contributed. So far we have $930 to help make up for what the Pulpit is paying out for this work.

Re: Pulpit Launch: Revised Proposal
Janni et al, I gotta tell you I was doubtful and skeptical over this whole ramp issue. I remained mostly silent cuz I just didn't have the vision nor the knowledge to add any value to the discussion. Now seeing Janni's vision come to fruition I have to say thank you, thank you, thank you. The new launch looks buffo! My check's in the mail!
