I'm just back from a MD-CA-MD road trip with my wing. Not as exciting mid country flying, as your club trip in early '06. Even the trucks couldn't go the speed limit in the Texas panhandle where the rest rooms are tornado shelters and the wind energy farms are seriously large. The attached picture shows the influence of HG wing design on the rest stop picnic areas. Got SIV and XC clinics with Gabrel Jebb from Torrey Pines.
If a pilot were to buy/build near a launch site in MD/VA/WV, where would the best site be, say within 100 mi of the district?
Thanks

Re: Fine Country
We bought a 5 acre lot just below Daniel's. A couple of other lots are still avaialble.

The Old Mountain Rd and Moonshine Rd properties (LOTS 11 AND 12) are near the Daniel's launch.

PS Search Land in Greene County for under 70,000.
Re: Fine Country
Thanks Matthew for the references. Do you think the FAA/NPS will continue flying at Daniel's? I wonder, after reading the posts about flying at 9k there.

Re: Fine Country
heh... i think you're confusing daniel's with dickey's. Dickey's is in the SNP near Front Royal. Daniel's is further south, close to the SNP, but near Charlottesville.

How true. Most obviously I don't fly here enough! You had a great day at Dickies! Question still stands...
Re: Fine Country
Daniels isn't in SNP. Launch is privately owned by a hang glider pilot.
