Woodstock 4/9

Post by silverwings »

I have a couple of students who are hoping for their first mountain flight(s) on Thursday. LZ ETA at 11:30. If plans change in the morning, will post. Looks like a light but thermally day there at this point. If interested in joining us please do. (202) 409-2574 c.

Woodstock turned out to flyable with light winds generally 3 - 7 mph at launch with some crossing at times. We now have 2 new mountain pilots (Greg Sessa, Chris Angrasani) who had good launches, mostly sleds, and normal landings. Greg got to do 2 flights and on his first, I got him to 360 some in a thermal where he got above launch for a short while! Chris only did one flight because he had a commitment to get back for. Dan Tuckwiller was there and did 2 flights and I did one. John McCallister and Nelson also flew and John had the best flight of the day with maybe a 15-20 min flight.

Congrats guys! I had two flights that were my first since mid-February. Good to knock the dust off.
