Spring Fling / Going Away Party for Shawn & Malina : Apr 11

Rhonda and I are proposing an idea for a get together at our new house.
We will nail-down a definate time soon, but are thinking around mid-april..
I have a large gas grill for burgers and such, possibly a bottle (wine) in a
bag thing .... beer, and oh don't forget the bathing suit and golf clubs....
Come out wish Shawn and Malina farewell, and relax in WV

I can't believe that we're going to lose Shawn and Melina to the siren call of
the Colorado mountains, damn! But if that's the way it's got to be... Then
we've gotta see them off right! Shawn has helped maintain The Pulpit, on
his own on many a day; he's helped with Fly-Ins; and he has Observed a
bunch of Hang-IIs new to the mountains. So count me in for the party, and
major thanks to Mike and Rhonda for offering to host!

If I remember right, Mike and Rhonda are maybe an hour away from Woodstock
and The Pulpit? So if the winds are kind to us, we could fly and then head over
to their place for a really fun time! Keep us posted Mike!

It sucks that they are leaving. If it's on a saturday, I'll come. And I think it's good to have the party at the end of a possible flying day, people will be pumped up and it will drive away the blues of what we are about to lose. Nobody wants a sad farewell.

Hello all,

Spoke with Shawn today, and he is available for April .... So, I chose the 11th for the shindig.

Directions are as follows:
From Frederick, Md : take Rt 340 to Charles Town (approx 25 miles), once in town continue straight through town pass the
ford dealership and then you come to a "Y" in the road, go right on Rt 51 towards Inwood. Follow 51 for about 1.5 to 2 miles
until you see a gas station on your left turn left there into tuscawilla hills community. travel about 1/4 of a mile you will see
Locust Hill golf Community on right, turn right there. make second left onto Batusrol way, then immediate right on
Baltusrol Drive. We are almost all the way down on the left.... 173 Baltusrol Dr. ( stone front )

From I-81 points north and south: Exit 5 (Inwood, WV) take rt 51 east to 7-11 store then make right, goto light @ sheetz store
and make left. follow 51 for about 9 miles until you see tuscawilla hills on right then follow directions above to our house....

The way I see it, If weather is conducive, we'll begin after flying.....
If not, then we'll start around 3-ish....

I agree - having Shawn & Melina move to Colorado is a big loss for us but I wish them the best! Ironically Matthew & I will be in Colorado ourselves on April 11th. We're going out to Steamboat Springs to ski from April 6th - 12th. Sparky might be able to join us one day. Maybe next year we can visit with Shawn & Melina too!

Sorry we will miss what I'm sure will be a great party.

One thing to remind our viewers is this, we have a nice new six person spa (hot tub) , soooooo, please don't
forget your bathing suits and towels...

OK, Brian and Mark, time to get hot! If you can't get married in time, just bring your fiancees and Shawn, who is probably also a lay pastor, could solemnize the unions. (As in his famous batten-dubbing of a new H3.) No fiancees? Mark can just marry Brianna. Problem solved: bachelor count reduced by two, wife count up one.

I will attempt to bring Sallie. That's one thing about wives: they sometimes "have a headache"...

Just tumbled to the fact that this will be the day before Easter - and my 88-year-old mother is coming to visit, and that I will go straight to the Bad Place if I do not take her to church on Sunday.
