Betsy Jane (Funk) Sager Fishburn, 77, of 21 Woodlee Road, Baldwin Park, formerly of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Shenandoah Nursing Home in Fishersville after a lengthy illness.
She was born October 29, 1931 in Woodstock, a daughter of the late Pete and Julia (Walters) Funk.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Fishburn had been employed by Dominion Resources. She was a life-long member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Woodstock.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John T. Fishburn and Wayne Richard Sager.
Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Sue and Bob Hise of Staunton; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Edward and Bonnie Sager; a sister, Alma Hottle, all of Woodstock; two sisters-in-law, Christine Crabill and Mary Ryan Sager; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four nieces.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 by the Rev. Margaret Ashby and Pastor Christopher Knoedler in Sunset View Memorial Gardens, 2677 Fravel Road, Woodstock.
Family will receive friends before and after the service at the cemetery.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Brightview, 21 Woodlee Road, Staunton.
