N. Cage hypes HG on Letterman!?!?!

Stting there, reading a book on the couch, with The Letterman Show on in
the background.... I half-hear some sort of flying related comment, glance
up, and there's Nicholas Cage discussing hang gliding! WTF???

No shit, he was going on and on with Dave about his plans to learn how to
hang glide, how it was the coolest thing going, describing thermals and
the flying scenes at Torrey and in the Alps. My jaw was on the floor!!!

Please tell me someone else saw it, otherwise I'll think I was dreaming.

Actually I read he spends time in New York as well. So he could probably get to ridgely for aerotow if he wanted to. I'm sure someone with his means could fly there in a small plane.

yeah, maybe even a simple note expressing appreciation for his enthusiastic public comments in light of the difficulty of getting the word out about the sport and the resulting drop off in participants.
if he were then to send an appreciative reply of thanks or some such thing, trying for a media mention. heck, the style section of the post, on a daily basis, makes a to-do when a celebrity is spotted eating in a local restaurant or shopping at local store and even if corresponding with a local person/organization.
if one felt like taking the risk one could be eating a powered donut while composing the letter - maybe even getting some FBI guys interested in the sport!
