PTT finger switch

Post by MikeB »

The thumb switch has gone flaky on my PTT setup. Does any one know where I can get a (quantity 1-2) spst low profile switch (total height 1/4") to replace the old one? Preferably local since Valle is a week away. It is mounted on a circuit board (5/8 x 1 1/4").
Thanks

I'm no expert but you might try Ham Radio Outfitters. Nearest store is in Woodbridge, but they also do a lot of catalog mailorder. It's good to talk to the guys at the store by phone so you find the right part.

For those of you with soldering irons, the following is the finger switch replacement for some PTT rigs.
www.mouser.com part # 653-B3W-4105 Omron Switches 12x12mm 350gf

If you want a cheaper PTT then check out Building a Helmet Headset & PTT for a Yaesu/Vertex VX-150 2M Handheld Transceiver

Cheers
