Re: Pulpit Saturday
What about the landing fields? I'm worried that they will still be icy. If that's the case, then sledding at Smithsburg might be an option!

Janni,
You obviously don't know your flowers.
"Pansies are a tough little flower that grow best in cooler weather. If you planted pansies in the spring, you may notice some of them, if not all of them, coming back in the fall. They're very hardy and can even survive a frost."

Re: Pulpit Saturday
I have the coolest picture of Paul, Bruce Engen and me at the Pulpit right after a huge ice storm -- but when I hit "Img" a browser doesn't come up. I'd love to share it; hints, anyone?

Spark,
Those pictures are from Thursday Dec. 12th, 2002. The link to Ralph's pictures in HANGOLA from that day no longer works. Apparently nobody was worrying about an icy LZ that day!

Ha, thanks Sparky! Your pictures are similiar to mine. I was whining because it was freezing and the wind was howling and all of our cars got stuck, saying that anyone with the intellect of a squirrel would go home. A cloud was forming right off the ramp where the wind hit. That's a picture of Bruce and Paul and me tied together, trying to beat the ice from the ramp.
Then the wind backed down. My flight was SPECTACULAR, the sun lighting up the ice coating the trees and bushes like a fairyland.
Sparky didn't fly. He was there with his son and just helped us. It was me, Kinsley, Paul, Bruce Engen, Tom (I think) and Ralph. Ralph read us a Christmas poem afterwards and he got pissed because Steve called it "doggeral." Good times.
Thanks for the memories.
