If I can talk my brother and sister in law into coming out, I'd be up for it.

I suppose the prospect of standing on launch with wind chills in the teens to single digits is not too appealing.
I guess I will wait until Sat. when it should be a bit warmer....

Hey Dan and Carlos,

I sent something direct but got no reply (Dan it was your Baghdad address - maybe you're not reading that one): since people are talking High Rock Saturday, perhaps we can go early to Smithsburg and practice with the bagwings, then fly the pipes at either HR or Pulpit. Sallie says she'll come out for the training hill.

I'm lookin to fly tomorrow. I don't care where.
I just found out my flying opportunities are going to be quite slim for awhile. :(

I'll check in the morning - is anybody NOT an observer that's coming out?!?
Man, this is a nice a club in which to be a 2!
Hope to see you guys tomorrow.

The weather forecast doesn't appear to clearly call for High Rock or the Pulpit. Any thoughts?

Headed out in a little bit. Can’t decide “weather”… to fly the sailplane or the HG (choices, choices!) I’ll figure it out on the road. If it’s the HG, then it be at HR with the Harrier in tow. Hope to see ya’ll there.

I am leaving in a few minutes and will tentatively head to the Rock. But since three of my last four flights have been sleds, my decisision may encourage you to go to the Pulpit.

Tom, Pete, Joe Schad, Danny, and Dan Tuck (?) made up the first wave at High Rock - I heard "two hours". Dan Tomlinson, Carlos, and I transitioned from PG practice at Smithsburg and joined David Churchill for the second wave. (Apologies to Shawn and Greg who sounded disappointed that we did not join them at the Pulpit.) Dave Bodner and Daniel Broxterman generously came from Smithsburg and launched all of us without flying themselves. Everyone flew as long as they wanted enjoying the buoyant air on a blue day. (My highest altitude was 700 feet over.) Emma Jane and her 19 cats (!) enjoyed visits. Tom was joined by his family in the LZ. Dan T had his first biwingual day and first flying day for three months since he works in Baghdad these days. Life is good! - Hugh

We all had good launches, at least decent landings and good company. Thanks to Hugh for letting me borrow his paraglider, Carlos for loaning me a harness so I can get some kiting practice in while I'm here, Daniel B for wiring us off and shleping us around, and Sally M, for being a trooper on the training hill. Good flights Sally, stick with it.

A great day to be alive and amongst the best friends anyone could ask for.
