I've been thinking about getting a custom flying jersey that represents the flying in the area. Maybe something with the Highland Aersports Logo or CHGPA. There are a number of companies that do custom work. Is there any interest out there in joining up to place an order or perhaps helping with the design?

Larry,
Let me take up the idea of a CHGPA jersey with the BoD (not that you need permission to make a jersey - it's just that they have experience/knowledge of what sells, how many, etc.). We have had decidedly mixed luck with recouping our costs from various t-shirts etc. but I understand the intangible benefits of having them.
Also, I endorse your dreaming about long XCs. It all seems to be about mental attitude and preparation (drivers!).
Hope to be in the air with you soon. We usually have pretty mild winters around here - lots of 50 degree days - so unless this winter is entirely different, you should come on out whenever you can. That way you're in practice for when the spring conditions arrive...

P.S. I think hauling gliders up the back of Woodstock when the road is closed for snow is one of the most satisfying things - just because it's so certifiably crazy!

Thanks Hugh. Can't wait to get into the air with you all again. Let me know on the jerseys, I think they would be a good way to communicate the awesome flying around here.

Larry,
If you are feeling bored as the weather turns raw again, maybe you could post the routes you've created for those 200 milers. My brother lives about 4 miles from Currituck, I've often wondered what it would take to fly there.

PS, always enjoy seeing you show up, I hope we share the air together again soon.
