Jamie, me, Carl (2nd ranked pilot in world), Paul, Ray, Kevin Carter, plus lots more flew at Quest today. It was 80 degrees on the ground. Carl and Jamie took off downwind but I waited for Paul to finish towing to fly. Then I didn't have my stupid radio rigged right (get that, the stupid radio, NOT me) so I unplugged it to quit bugging everyone with my static.
Dusty towed me to a good street -- but TOTALLY miles away from Paul, like 5 MILES away! The street rocked and it was pretty effortless punching into the wind (about 10), but I wanted to play like I had a task to the south so I finally jumped out into the blue. Arrgggh!!! I got very low and was happy to stay with my zero lift until it turned on while I drifted back towards home.
It was so wierd -- I got airsick! Puked all over my harness and basetube. At least hopefully I was airsick and just didn't eat enough and got cold. Anyhow, I decided after getting Quest on glide again that I'd better head for home.
I flew about an hour and a half. Paul did an out and back of 32 miles. Jamie and Carl flew to Ocala, about 50 miles. Jamie sunk out but Carl just came back to land with her.
Paul did lots of tows, too. I wanted to work on getting tuned back up in the tandem tonight but was a little put-off by my puking so came home instead.
Seriously, you should all come down. I have never flown a FL winter like this. The next four/five days look stellar, too.
