Paul towed me today and WE LIVED!! (I know, I spoiled all the suspense.) I towed about 11 AM, with a forecast of zero lift to zero altitude. Amazing, Paul was pretty good (but then he is at everything). Bobby's plane is not strong, and as someone said, it is wrong to have a bald man flying a pink plane.
Nevertherless, we aimed at the sky with Paul promising to drop me off over the little clouds so at least it would be pretty.
OMG!! It rocked. It was stunningly beautiful but I also stayed up easily for about two hours. Ha, should have brought at least my phone. NEVER pay attention to forecasts!(freezing, had to pee, hungry, landed on purpose)
Tomorrow I'll fly XC with Cliff, a newbie pilot here. Feasted on oysters around the tiki bar last night. Am on a diet so did not get drunk or even full. Also am not getting much thinner but I am getting meaner.
You are welcome to come visit but don't make me mad when I'm hungry.

Re: We lived!
Thanks for being a sap, Jim. It makes me love you even more.
Actually, towing up behind Paul was one of the coolest things I ever got to do, heading out over the clouds on an adventure together. I kept thinking what incredible lives we've had.
So... we did it again today, this time with the strong tow plane. The tow was faster than with the pink plane, but Paul's not bad. We flew to the north, away from the blue hole that forms over Quest when it's NE (due to a lake upwind).
I pinned off at 2700 -- one of the benefits of my hubby towing -- he will NEVER wave me off!
Flew for over an hour and a half, landed on purpose. Kind of. I'm practicing flying really fast and I deliberately lose altitude and then try to climb up through the others. Um, but I finally blew it and got too smart and sunk out. Wasn't trying very hard by then, though, since I was tired and cold. Same shi**y forecast as yesterday.
I really love what Dustin did to my glider. He said my sprogs were so low they wouldn't come into contact with the sail until about the third tumble (that was BEFORE he fixed it). It was scary to fly it when I was in Texas. It felt like it was about to go over all the time. Maybe it's just the air is so much easier here, dunno.
This is absolutely the best winter flying I've ever had in FL. It was higher today, too. Gotta look at my 5030 but I'm thinking around 4 grand.
Heather and John Simon showed up but we weren't sure if Quest was renting out gliders and I already loaned out my Pulse, so they went to Wallaby. I hope they soared 'til they were sore. I imagine they did.

Re: We lived!
After Lauren made the announcement that I had towed her cute little butt into the sky for the first time, we got the following note from a good friend who wishes to remain anonymous. I had made some stupid comment to him about how we missed the opportunity to end our lives together in a blaze of glory and this was his response. I had decided that perhaps I shouldn't post it publicly but I'm bored right now so what the hell... here it is. I hope that no one takes offense. It was written just for fun.
"You guys sure did blow an opportunity to go out in a spectacular fashion. You'd have certainly made the Fox News with a dual exit: "Liberal Couple Die Violently In Murder-Suicide Massacre : Bald spouse with earring, flying a pink aircraft murders wife and then dives to death in a Christian schoolyard at recess. Bibles strewn amidst carnage of massacred children. Rumors of late life sexual identity crisis as cause. Details following this word from Cialis".
