Sunday

I think I am going to go down and do some truck tows at Manquin. Light winds and a little warmer than it has been. Hope to tow the PG too. (did that once before -- pretty cool. Didn't have an altimeter but think I got to 1300 to 1500 ft.)

So I couldn't bring myself to ditch my little sister yesterday to hang out with y'all polar bears. But, ugh, two weeks without flying at all sucks. John M was headed down to Taylor Farm so I figured what the hey. And it turned out to be a great day to practice some launches and landings. The temps were plenty warm and the wind was perfect for it, blowing right in, light and very smooth. I did 6 flights, all nice launches and landings including a few flat footed no-steppers. It was good to get out, get some exercise and stay current. Okay, so it wasn't a two hour flight 5K above the ridge but it was still a great day. Thanks John.

Blue Sky was pretty sweet today. Got a little over an hour from an 800 ft. truck tow. I think getting up from a truck tow is tough even in the spring much less November. Came down because I was cold. Didn't get all that high -- 2500 max -- but lift was plentiful. Had 4 up at one point. The only other person there was Patrick somebody (sorry) an aspiring Mosquito pilot.

Did a PG tow later in the day. My launch was a little ragged -- butt very close to the ground for several seconds -- but the rest of the flight was fine. No lift tho.
