2. Damn! Can you imagine the ground-safety hazard problems of a human-sized version?
Walking into a prop is one thing; getting sucked into a jet engine is another. But dang, falling across that puppy would be like playing hide n seek in the wheat field with the thresher coming through!

I wonder what the flight characteristics are if you lost the engine. May not be suitable for human flight, or very expensive if made so.
