Saturday Flying?

Post by rlweber »

The forecast look like it may be a High Rock day on Saturday, too light for Woodstock. I have never flown High Rock, but am thinking about making it my first time. Interested in what you experienced High Rockers think.

Hi Randy,

I think most of us are going to the Pulpit on Saturday becasue the forecast is 5-10. High Rock is better in a 10-15 forecast. If it's too North or blowing stronger than predicted, we may head back to High Rock from the Pulpit.

Re: Saturday Flying? TFR-- No High Rock

Post by Matthew »

TFR in effect till Sunday afternoon. So High Rock is not an option for Saturday.

I sure hope the next president will spend his weekends working at the White House and not screw around up at Camp David every weekend.

PS FYI There was a TFR yesterday. It expired at 1pm and we started flying at 1:30pm.

It all depends of what you look at

Woodstock looks NW light for HG, but the inversion layer is above 5000 at 3:00

Pulpit looks ok NW 9kts (2500ft) at 2:00 pm but inversion is below 4000

Ridgely winds LV the inversion layer at 1000

No matter what i'm up for flying

Nobody launched in the late afternoon at Pulpit because it was too strong. I was wondering if it had been a nice day at Woodstock, but I guess not. Thanks for the note.
