As a side discussion of the helmet issue, we did have agreement on a proposal for expanding the annual parachute repack clinic to include checking the safety of our other equipment. Thus, we will endeaver to provide information on proper fit of helmets and info on how to check various helmets to see if the padding, design, et cet. are of any use.
This will be a completely voluntary portion of the parachute repack clinic. Info on checking and inspecting various parts of harnesses will also be provided. Thus, the parachute repack will consist of assisted self-inspection and repack of parachutes and self inspection of helmets and harnesses. All voluntary, of course.
We may also smash a few old helmets and see how well they hold up.
We just need to find somewhere to host the repack clinic and finalize a date. Volunteers would be useful too.

If Highland is still receptive and we work to not adversely impact the
business activities, I think that was the best meeting place we had found.
Take it from someone who put in the time - such places are not easy to find=

I won't make assumptions about whether it's worth it to them, though.
Board business, not a listserve topic.

Regarding the chute repack...
With a few days' notice I can get us into the train station or the War Memorial Building in Shepherdstown. (Cost would be minimal-to-nothing.) Both have large, open, clean wood floors. Good restaurants and a bar literally steps away!
If either of these spaces sounds good, just drop me a line and I'll arrange it.

Do either of them have a place we can suspend and spin for practice
throws?
Minimal cost is important because we'll still need to rent 10-12 tables.

Any place for people to hang themselves up in their harnesses and
practice throwing their chutes while spinning, pitching, etc.? Outside
area for fully inflating chutes in the breeze is good, too. - Hugh
