I'm voting for Palin, she's pretty. I'm tired of looking at old VP men.

My prediction: If McCain loses (and that's a better than even bet right now), Palin will soon be forgotten. She'll finish out her governership, maybe even get elected as the junior Senator from Alaska, but that's it. She'll never be back on the national stage. Unless if you want to count daytime television. I think she has a real future there.

Actually, as I ponder, she probably has a real future as a Fox news "analyst." Now that's depressing.

the following is for entertainment purposes only and has been edited for content and to fit the alloted time.

i should thank mr. zee for all the prep he's provided.
long story short. these mccain proselytizers knocked at my door late this afternoon. blond nordic god looking guy, lantern jaw, great physic, hot white bleach blonde cutie wife. they maybe should have stayed in mcclean or potomac.
i was taking a break from running a bunch of recycled mahogany tongue and groove paneling boards through a planer on my back patio. loud, dusty, knock it out but pay attention kind of work. 'was in a grit and gut it frame of mind.
i let him know up front where i was coming from politically, but he seemed to take it as a challenge. turned out to be the hilight of my day. i had a smoke and killed at least 20 minutes of his evangelism time before i returned to my tasks.
he was very self assured and appeared to have memorized all the same talking points that marco has availed himself of (or "of which marco has availed himself" if you want to be a pain in the ass gramaticass).
oh that's right, i promised to keep it short. i'll just relate one of my more favorite moments, but there were plenty and i had LOts of fun.
let's see, something about maccain having a record of "reaching across party lines" and this dude challenging me with the rhetorical type statement that obama hasn't or couldn't claim the same could he?
so i says, welll. maybe that's not so much of an important thing. i says that i'm thinking that maybe it's time for them guys on the other side of that there isle, republicans they call themselves? REal ACtual conservative republicans you say?

well maybe it's time for them to just Sit dowN and shut uP.

me being all pleasant and smiling and friendly. just like he was. of course.
you really had to be there. it was as marco in halloween costume. but reverse. all blonde, innocuous and not scary looking.

aH Come oN marco!
where's the give and Fake? the unencumbered enthusiasm? the conviction that flies in the face of facts, reality and documented evidence?
come on and be generous. be a sport. give us something to work with. we're out here salivating! searching for an outlet for our premature joy in impending victory (well okay, vindictiveness and desire for the taste of blood).
this is the unfeeling and unaccountable cyberspace. we can't dump on our friends or acquaintances any more than we already have. we have to live with our neighbors and relatives. where else can we experience the freedom and joy of incivility?
but then, maybe you're just gonna wait it out 'til you can magnanimously, ya know . . . Toast Obama?!

but maybe you're like me - still waiting for mccain(rove?) to drop a final shoe. something like maybe the white love child. or maybe, hey i got it! a claim that obama has actually been lying about being black. you waiting for something like that? don't blame you. these must be tough times for you. (but at least you've got palin).

snicker, snicker. yuk, yuk, yuk.

With the brilliant selection of Sarah Palin, John McCain has galvanized and energized the GOP base, which will dramatically contribute towards another GOP Presidential victory this November.

Obama is simply an EMPTY SUIT that can read off of a teleprompter , who will soon become another "also-ran" in American history....a man of no substance or accomplishment whatsoever....but wasn't he a great community organizer?

Hey Marco, what happened with your prediction? We haven't heard from you since the EMPTY SUIT won the election by a significant margin and has since taken up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Perhaps Sarah Palin wasn't such a brilliant selection or maybe the GOP has become something of a fringe party? Too bad HST didn't stick around long enough to see it happen!

having wandered in the wilderness(?) these past eight years i was gratified that, as a minority, i was recognized and indeed felt the inclusiveness first promised and then explicitly expressed by the new president in his inaugural speech. you know, heathen white guy.

From the Washington "what do you expect from a liberal rag" Post, an example of how ending the war in Iraq, among other liberal policies, is what Al Qaeda fears the most. A few excerpts:

"The torrent of hateful words is part of what terrorism experts now believe is a deliberate, even desperate, propaganda campaign against a president who appears to have gotten under al-Qaeda's skin. The departure of George W. Bush deprived al-Qaeda of a polarizing American leader who reliably drove recruits and donations to the terrorist group.

With Obama, al-Qaeda faces an entirely new challenge, experts say: a U.S. president who campaigned to end the Iraq war and to close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and who polls show is well liked throughout the Muslim world."

"...for now, the change in Washington appears to have rattled al-Qaeda's leaders, some of whom are scrambling to convince the faithful that Obama and Bush are essentially the same. "They're highly uncertain about what they're getting in this new adversary," said Paul Pillar, a former CIA counterterrorism official who lectures on national security at Georgetown University. "For al-Qaeda, as a matter of image and tone, George W. Bush had been a near-perfect foil."

Al-Qaeda's rhetorical swipes at Obama date to the weeks before the election, when commentators on Web sites associated with the group debated which of the two major presidential candidates would be better for the jihadist movement. While opinions differed, a consensus view supported Republican Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) as the man most likely to continue Bush administration policies and, it was hoped, drive the United States more deeply into a prolonged guerrilla war."

"Site founder Rita Katz said the messages show "just how much al-Qaeda is intimidated by Obama."

"The leadership of al-Qaeda is very concerned about the wide support that Obama has been receiving from Arab and Muslim countries," Katz said. "To combat this threat, al-Qaeda has embarked on a propaganda campaign against Obama, not only by linking him to the policies of the Bush administration, including the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, but also by accusing him of actions in which he had no part."

Other jihadist groups appear less threatened, or perhaps more accepting of an American commander who appears more open to peaceful accommodation, Katz said. A publication known as Al-Samoud, linked to the Taliban in Afghanistan, viewed Obama's election as a welcome sign that Americans are "very much tired from the bitter war" and do not wish to prolong a conflict "ignited by Bush's insanity and his satanic policy."
