Bills Hill weekend

Post by XCanytime »

Looking like a Bills Hill pattern is setting up for the weekend. Paraglider and hang glider friendly winds should be the order of each day. With the dry spell setting in, good thermal production a distinct possibility on both days. With Fisher gone, if it turned out to be SE and S, then Jacks would be the nearest recourse for flying at over an hour away from the Pulpit. Bills is only half an hour away, so Mother Nature will be saving us some gas money. Looking forward to a nice mix of paraglider and hang gliders at Bills this weekend.

Pulpit/Bill's Hill Weed Whacker Challenge

Post by Matthew »

YEP! Looks like Bill's at least on Saturday. I heard that the slot could use some weed whaking, so I propose that we have the First Annual Pulpit/Bill's Hill Weed Whacker Challenge!!!!

Bring your weed whacker or machete and every person who whacks or hacks for at least 20 minutes will receive five additional raffle tickets. If half the pilots participate and we have at least five weed trimmers, we'll have the slot cleaned up in less than an hour.

This is not a full blown clean-up-- just a little maintenance to make sure that no one gets eaten by the sticker bushes when launching.

An additional prize will go to the person who works the hardest.

Just a question, please ignore it if you find it to be totally rude, selfish and, well, ignorant I guess. Any chance the Fly-In can be moved towards next weekend? Lot's of people out of town this weekend (including the Fly-In organizer, LOL), Mike Barber at Highland and a lousy mountain forecast that now involves working beside partying. Just asking.

It's not a lousy mountain forecast. Plenty of sun, low humidity, only a half hour from home base. Winds could pick up midday to ridge soarable velocity, with the dry period between now and the weekend. Bacil

Oh for crying out loud, Janni-locks.

A. Have some club spirit. It's a good forecast for flying in the mountains.

B. What the hell makes you think we'll have a better forecast the next weekend?

C. The mugs came in and they are FANTASTIC!!!

Latest weather pattern update now looks more SE to S on Saturday, then maybe at home base on Sunday??? It's certainly looking good at Bills on Friday. Bacil
