I can handle the on-site competition issues up at the Pulpit.

Soooo....

How's it going?

Do we have everything covered for the Pulpit Fly-In????

I've run into a dead end trying to get custom speed sleeves. So we can go with a commemorative T-shirt, a long sleeve T-shirt or a baseball cap.

Send your choice to me at mcgraham20@yahoo.com.

Also, I still think there are rooms available at the McConnelsburgh B&B.

Given a count in the morning I can run down to mcburg and pick up hamburgers and stuff. Do you need condiments too? Are you guys taking advantage of all the stuff in Rich Bloomfield's storage?

Re: Pulpit Fly-In 2008 : Volunteers Needed UPDATE

Post by Matthew »

Clear skies predicted for the weekend and temps in the mid 70's. Dont have the winds figured out yet-- but I'm guessing East on Saturday and NW on Sunday.

So far we have the following volunteers--

Raffle Prizes- David Churchill
Commemorative Gift Mugs-- ME
Meat and Cheese-- Brian Vant Hull
Other food (buns, condiments, chips, soda, etc.)-- ME
Beer and Ice-- Shawn Ray
Grilling-- Shawn Ray
Comp Director-- Tom McGowan
Registration-- Dan Tuck
Sunday Clean-Up-- Kathy C.
Saturday evening entertainment-- Mark C.

SOOO... we still need another person for registration. Any other Hang 2s out there want to help with registraton--- perhaps a hang 2 with the initials TD.

Don't know if we actually have a grill-- two would be better than one. So I need a couple of volunteers to bring a grill and the associated heat supply (charcoal or propane), plus grilling tools. How about some of you old timey pilots, Steve K., Dave P., Pete S., Bacil, Christy-- can any of you bring a grill????

We also need a couple of more volunteers for Sunday clean-up and another person to help out on the grills.

Normally we have someone with a pickup truck schlep grills between High Rock and Pulpit. Can be done saturday morning after someone unloads camping and flying stuff.

And again, there's plenty good utensils, napkins etc at Rich Bloomfield's storage in McConnelsburg. It will take a van or pickup truck to get it, since it's kept in large garbage cans for storage purposes.

I believe there's one propane grill and one charcoal grill at the Pulpit. I have an extra propane tank I can bring. I had left a gigantic spatula at HR last year, though I have no idea if it's still there. I'm sure I could bring another.

What kind of Grog?(Old Millyukee?) Where at to pick up? Shawn.
Yuengling has somehow become the default club beer. 1/2 keg is way too much. We didn't even finish the 1/4 keg when we had one. You might even want to consider cases of cans. Easy to put on ice. Don't have to worry about returning. If my upbringing in the streets of Bowie can be trusted, a 1/4 keg is equivalent to 3 1/2 cases.

I like the non-keg idea... that way you can get a few different brews to choose from. We can make recycling mandatory. I'm about to post the outlook for raffle prizes... please see that thread for details

FIRE WOOD!!!!

Post by Matthew »

Would someone PLEASE bring some fire wood to get the campfire started? We can dig around in the woods for additional wood to keep the fire going if needed.

And we still need one of you old timey pilots to help out with the grilling....

Hey. I was asked to post that Tom isn't going to be able to make the fly-in. He is up in NYC with his pals Hank and Ben and will be for quite a while. I am worried that they are going to tell him to move there.

McGowan or Cuenan? I don't know Tom Cuenan so well, but Tom McGowan should think about giving me a call.
