BlueSky 7/25 Mile High

Post by tdilisio »

Went to BlueSky on Friday, Joe Shad was already setup by the time I got there. I was the "wind dummy" of the day and launched first around 130ish. Released at about 800, climbed to 950 and fell out of the thermal... ok... I lost it. Joe launched next and climed WTF up there... he said he reached 7k.... with only a t-shirt... he was pretty darn cold for a while after he landed... musta been up there over 3 hours. My second launch, I released at about 800... climbed a little and lost it again. Heading back to land, I ran into a thermal at about 350-400ft and that one took me up to 5700ft. Way cool.... and chilly up there. Really gotta learn to dress for the altitude. I found it to be a little turbulent up near the cloud bottoms... so I just flew away from them. Headed down to about 3200 to warm up... and caught another thermal up to 5K. Total flight time for the day was about 2 hrs. PeterK showed up while Joe and I were soaring. On his second launch he scratched and finally topped out at about 6600. Once he found that thermal.... he was up and away on that topless. Lesson of the day... dress warmer, and when I grow up I wanna be like Peter and Joe. Till next time. Fly high, and safe.

Congratulations Tony on your flight. Sometimes not being dressed properly helps you get high!
