Expect Lines This Weekend

Post by aerosports »

We just wanted to give a quick heads up to anyone coming out to Highland this weekend. We just found an airframe problem on our tug this morning that is going to require a major repair. With our other tug going through a similar type of repair, we're out of airplanes!
All is not lost as we're fortunate enough to have acquired a 582 for the weekend. We've canceled about 50% of our tandems over the weekend to help ease the load but be prepared for some extra waiting in line regardless.
Normal operations are expect by next weekend. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Could someone please explain to me real quick what a 582 is? Will it make the tow easier or more difficult?

Hi Janni,

The "582" they are talking about is a standard Dragonfly tow plane with a smaller motor creating less horsepower. Highland normally flies the turbo charged 914 which climbs like a monkey on steroids. I usually find the tows a bit more pleasant with the 582's but the climb rate will be slower so you will spend more time on tow.

Try it, you'll like it! :D

Thanks Paul,

perhaps a slower speed is exactly what I need for towing my puppy w/o fin.

I figure I'll give Highland a shot tomorrow too.

Thanks for the heads-up about the tug! Hope that the repairs go smoothly.
