Major Forum Problems Due To 'Upgrade' : Downtime Likely

Post by chgpa »

After an upgrade to phpBB 3.0.1, the user permissions appear to be
completely screwed. So after logging in, you may see things like
"this board has no forums", or "you cannot read posts in this forum" .

What a mess.

I've got backups up the whazoo, if it comes to that. I really hope
it doesn't....

Planning to fly on Saturday, so things may be stuck/unrecovered
until Sunday.

Hear that BANG-BANG-BANG ?? That's me, head against keyboard....

Super weird... I poked around, purged a cache, and *poof*, I can now read & post after
logging in as myself. But that makes very little sense based on the symptoms I was
seeing earlier. So although things seem to be working, I'm pretty skeptical at the moment.

Please keep an eye out for anything strange, and post anything that you run into
in the Forum HelpDesk :

http://www.chgpa.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=10

And keep yer fingers crossed!

Thanks for your work Mark. I also see that someone (most likely you) has upgraded the weather page. Very nice and thanks for that too. By the way, I have been looking at weather site called windmapper.com recently to see forecast winds. It seems to be pretty good. I saw the line on the OZ report a few months ago. Have fun if you get out flying today.

I noticed that last night but it seems to be working fine now. Thanks much Mark!
