concertina/accordion bag

Post by pink_albatross »

Some folks asked me yesterday about my brand spanking new concertina bag. I said I ordered it from one outfit, when I actually ordered it from
http://www.flygear.us/home.html

warning - product endorsement:
I really love it. It was quick and easy to pack up my glider. It keeps the mylar nicely stacked, it has pockets for the risers, it is easy to get the air out of the wing and seems much more gentle on the wing. And it stows away nice and small. Straps to help with packing everywhere. :-) The concertina bags I had seen before had much more netting, so I was concerned when I saw only two narrow strips of netting along the length of the bag. Well, it works just fine. The bag is open on both ends and that's where you want the air to escape anyway.

disclaimer:
I'm not affiliated with flygear. Never even met anybody who works or flies with those guys.

ellis-

does that bag zip from the leading edge to the trailing edge, or the other way? Mine zips from the nose to the tail, and it is backward in my opinion.

it looks quite a bit nicer than the one I have.

aloha,

Can't remember which way it zipped up. I'll pay attention next time.

Ordered mine after seein Ellis' this past weekend -- pretty neat! I've been looking for a better way to fold since I started this sport -- this tool appears to be hitting all the right buttons.

Btw, it does zip up from leading edge to trailing edge.
Might be better to zip from tail to nose. You may want to mention that when you order your bag. They might be able to accomodate you.
