Any chance someone is willing to mentor me through my first XC flight from the Pulpit? Pretty much babysit me through the whole thing, radio contact, the works? I do have two regular training hill radios, not the fancy kind but with earphones and mics so you won't have to take your hands off your base tube. While I would do it on my own if I had to I'd much rather follow someone experienced for a steeper learning curve.

Janni,
Just come along if we all get 2K+ above and someone starts heading OTB. An active cloud street downwind would be nice also. The best vario is another pilot. There should be plenty of pilots showing up at the Pulpit on Sunday if the forecast holds.

I'm tempted. I've got a dinner party at my house on Sunday night, but I can slip it back to 6-7ish if conditions remain favorable. Will be watching closely.

We're in. Looks a tad strong early. ETA 11:30.

If any H2s wanna chase on an XC flight over the back, I'll be happy to Observe afterwards. Looks soarable all day.

Going to early Church with Suzie then leaving VA at 10:00. ETA 11:30 at Pulpit or Woodstock depending on forecast and mass exodus to the mountains. Will check in the morning and will have my blackberry with me to check updates. Have to depart flying by 4:00pm to make it back for dinner party.

When in doubt, I go with the bay forecast-- 15-20 all day, smal craft advisory. So.... Woodstock.

Just to confuse things, is anyone thinking High Rock?
