Loss of another friend

Post by Holly »

I haven't seen enough of anyone from the flying communities since my accident (and carreer change), and now there is one more person I'll never see, hug, or joke with again... at least not in this reality.

Jim Carrigan passed away earlier today. I received an email from Michael Wimmer and I'll just repost what he shared with me and some others from the Blue Sky community:

Our friend and fellow pilot Jim Carrigan passed away this morning from complications w/ a liver and kidney condition that Jim has suffered w/ all his life. Evidently, in the last few months, his condition worsened and his doctors were unable to intervene. The last few days he has been on pain killers to keep him comfortable. Jim never spoke of his condition and few knew of it.

His parents have said that the funeral will be in Tennessee, but that they will hold a memorial service in the Richmond area in the next few weeks. We will do our best to make sure everyone knows the time/place as soon as it is decided upon.

We will all miss Jim; his smiles and laughs, and the cans of dip laying around the flight park. Clear sky's and smooth flying my friend....

I've shed many tears since hearing about Jim's passing, and I'm sure I'll shed many more in the coming days. He was a dear friend and I miss him already.

With heavy heart,
Holly

Holly,

Thanks for the post Holly. What sad news. Jim was a jewel of a man and I will miss him as I am sure all those who know and have flown with him will.

Its really hard to believe he's gone. Back when I was playing tug pilot at Blue Sky he would always bring me my favorite local microbrew at the end of the day. I had started taking trike lessons from him about a year and a half ago before life got on the way. I'm really going to miss him...
