Weekend w/x not looking promising and I can't get away Friday. I'll probably head to Highland tomorrow unless anyone wants to go to the mountains. Let me know if so.
Best,
Daniel

Re: Flying Thursday (4/17)
I plan to fly at Ridgley on Thursday; see if my shoulder will allow me to do the weight-shift thing.

Might be doable at Jacks Saturday, and you may beat the rain home. Bacil

Re: Flying Thursday (4/17)
Highland. Warm, blue day with some haze. Light W winds on the ground, NW at altitude.
My first flight on the LiteSport: pinned off right after launch because I was oscillating, and put on a fin. Launched again, tow went much better with the fin, and pinned off in lift at 1800' but only managed a 15 minute extendo. Waited around for a while until we saw vultures circling and tried again. Next tow felt great and I was able to stay up for 45 minutes in mostly light stuff, but never got over 2900'. Danny Brotto towed up to me and we were joined in a thermal by a bald eagle who hung out in close proximity for at least 5 minutes. Very cool! We were drifting to the SE and got grounded heading back toward the field. As far as I could tell, we touched down at exactly the same moment, Danny in the windsock field and me in the field west of the swamp.
Mason, H2 from York, flew next and seemed to be boating around at ~1000 for a while. A really nice guy, look for Mason at a mtn site soon. Danny flew again, not sure what he got but it didn’t inspire me to go again. Glen and Janni showed up later and took turns sledding on Glen’s Sport 2.
I stopped at Red, Hot n Blue for a bbq sandwich and a beer on the way home and chatted with a sea captain at the bar whose job is delivering yachts up and down the east coast for a builder in Rhode Island. He gets an assignment every 2 weeks or so. Cool job, but I wasn’t jealous because I had just soared with a bald eagle.
Congrats, Bacil, on the fantastic flight at Jack's! I would have taken that over the eagle.
