So I was doing a little hibernating for the winter and sleeping just fine when I woke up to Lazzlo pounding on my door. Soon after Juanito emerged and said "what the heck you doing man?" So I got out of bed, made some coffee and checked the weather, which looks possibly dandy for tomorrow. Anyone game?

I'm game -- where to? I'm definitely ready for some east coast air again. Last flight here was at Woodstock in November, although I managed 3 flying days early last month at Torrey Pines.

Torrey is a nice luxury in the winter months... Is landing on the beach illegal now? I heard it was!

I spoke to Juanito this am and he is thinking woodstock. Looks NWish and he'll be out there early with some students. My ETA is more like 1230 or so.

I'm not sure landing on the beach is "legal" now, but it's done all the time, especially for the beginners - and they've been called "emergency landings". Not sure what they're called now. There's a bit of tension going on right now with regard to the life guards and the landings -- they say it's a cyclical thing -- they're always waging one battle or another. The county is giving them a hard time for maintaining the grass on the site, and meanwhile the golf course right down the way is left to do whatever.
