too much fun

Post by Lauren Tjaden »

Paul, Greg D and I flew late this afternoon at Quest. It was windy early and Paul was tired -- but it was GREAT when we launched at about 3 PM. The tow was so quiet I was sure there wouldn't be lift but there was solid 400fpm. We all cruised around about an hour before it died out.
Then Rich C showed up -- you know, the comp pilot, tandem instructor. A side note -- Bo --yes THAT Bo, National Champ Bo, got married to his sweetie pie Jana a few days ago, so lots of our old buddies, like Rich and Paris and their families are here. Jana is pregnant, too! (Yes, it is on purpose--apparently the docs thought it would take them a long time to get pregnant but it wasn't the case).
Anyhow, I've been studying for my tandem. Rich took up Jen, his long-time girl friend, with him flying on the bottom, and then Rich and I flew together, with me on the bottom (so he could get back in tune on top). I know, this begs for sexual innuendo but the best I can do is say I enjoyed the position.
It was SOOOO fun. Rich was warning me I was getting a little low on my approach which was so weird because I would have glided to Clermont on my Litespeed. But he was right -- the thing comes down like a Falcon with a Clydesdale attached to it.
So I am filled with the love of all mankind right now and it's probably best I sign off before I embarass myself more.

Lauren,

As usual, you are living my dream. Go for it on the tandem! Maybe to explore positions other than the missionary and doggie-style, you can try a Lookout-style side-to-side configuration. - Hugh
