I see lots of debate about aluminum vs steel, but little about braving
the elements to go fly today... Anyone thinking of a quick run up to
High Rock, just fer kicks?

Using this notam site:
https://www.notams.jcs.mil/dinsQueryWeb/
and searching for KZDC brings up a report that does not include
any mention of 'Thurmont' .
Which (at least in the past) has meant no TFR expansion for P40. Right?

So? Did anybody go? I observed blue skies, cumies, west winds and was wondering... Didn't see this string. Transition to new system? - Hugh

Glen went after I encouraged him since I thought Ellis and Marc would. He found nobody there but reported super good conditions back to me. Steady 10-15 mph laminar winds straight in. Guess we all missed a good day at HR.

I hiked in to Woodstock Sunday because of the seeming clearing skies in the morning. Turned out to be overcast and barely a trickle of wind. Two paraglider folks also hiked up the front and sleded. I packed it in and hiked out.

I would have gone--but Ellis's truck wasn't quite ready and we spent some time getting and installing a new rack. I thought it looked good but it was a bit late when we were done and I thought the probability of getting there and not finding anyone to wire was pretty high--along with having to rush to pick your glider up and set up before dark I decided to bail.RedBaron wrote:Glen went after I encouraged him since I thought Ellis and Marc would. Anyway, Ellis is good to go now.
