Oregon Ridge

Post by RedBaron »

Looks like NE tomorrow. Richard, Rusty and I are thinking Oregon Ridge, the ultimate H12 terrain park. Come on out, get a workout, practice launches, landings and let's all have a beer and burger later.

OR

Post by Danny Brotto »

Would love to... I have a Harrier to fly but my front rack is with the U2 at the gliderport. Anybody heading to OR by way of the north side of the Baltimore Beltway (near Perring Parkway and 695) that can give me a ride?

Might just show up and "borrow" a ride LOL.

Hi Danny,

I'll be coming up 695 from 95. Not sure if that is near your place or not but I'd be glad to give you a ride.

rusty, if the crowd decides to go I encourage you to show up. Smithsburg is a great place to get in some practice and get some advice from experienced pilots. Have fun.

I had a blast. It was blowing in real good at times, wouldn't be surprised if it was soarable at Bill's. Danny actually had a couple of passes not losing any in front of the slot, on his gorgeous Harrier.
Thanks for letting me be a pimp Rusty, David, Glen and Richard. Flew four different gliders but must say that Rusty's F3 kicks ass. Launched it from way back in the slot and made it to the steep part more or less smoothly. Richard followed suit and did a much better job at it. David showed everybody up on his Eagle 164. The glider is a feather in his hands and a Stuka with a big siren in the front in mine. Need to lose more weight...

Good crowd today

Post by davidtheamazing1 »

Cause no one is too good to hit the training hill on a perfect day like today. Forcast held with smooth 8-10 mph winds mostly straight in from the time we got there to the time we left. Everyone got at least a few good flights in. We had two HG instructors out there and no students, so there was plenty of supportive pilots to give you feedback. I learned not to worry about lending "Jenni" a glider, despite the four opportunities, s/he was real gentle and didn't even leave a scuff on anyone's wing.

John Middleton was there also, representing in his PG. It would have been a good chance for more paragliders and wannabe PGers to show off/practice their stuff.
