I have weekend plans, so I'm up for chasing it tomorrow afternoon if conditions look good: HR, Woodstock, Pulpit? Takers? ~Daniel 301.275.6584

Friday flying...

Daniel,

Take HR off your list because a TFR is up from 2:00 Friday through 1:00 Sunday. Shame because Saturday is looking sweet at HR. Might be enough there for Sunday afternoon though.

The bag-wingers started beating the drum for Woodstock, but it looks strong for PG - more like a HG forecast, huh? I could get there by mid/late afternoon... - Hugh

Looks like a north cross for Woodstock. Probably better at High Rock. Not sure I will be able to fly friday.

For me, it's Woodstock or nothing - we're camping in the area then working on the trike Saturday. Why don't we exercise the High Rock waiver anymore? - Hugh

ADDS 3k 'cast is 20-30 NW at 7:00am, followed by a precipitous drop
and much lighter winds at 2pm.

But on the other hand, the NWS surface cast
at this link is calling for solid 15 NNW at the surface all afternoon.

So guess it's all going to depend on exactly how fast things
blow through, we'll see!

Didn't get enough done yesterday to take off this afternoon. Sorry I'm going to bail on the chase. Good luck and be safe. ~Daniel

ADDS 3k now has 15-20 NNW in northern VA at 5pm.
That might be enough to tempt me out there, will make
the call by around 1pm.

So, is there any chance I can share a ride with someone from the LZ to the top?

Drive out... Bad! 2 hours 40 minutes from Conn Ave and the Beltway. Sheesh!

Winds on arrival : Good! Very good!

Winds on launch : Nearly dead! Doh!

Had visions of a super-awful drive:fly ratio for the day. But I think
it was just a protracted N-cross period, and after 10 minutes on
launch I joined Andrew and Steve K in the air.

And it was sweet!!! Got to 2k over with Steve near the wide
finger to the north. Flew up to the reservoir and back, just enjoying
the sky and the scenery. Everyone flew pretty much as long as
they wanted... Other pilots there were Gary S, and Lazslo and Hugh on
their PGs.

A much-needed attitude adjustment!
