Looks like it will be good at Bills Friday. I'm seeing clear, and almost due East at around 10 all afternoon. Anyone else interested?

Does anybody know if Bills is near a place in PA called the Pine Grove Furnace
Area? Pine Grove is in the Michaux State Park and I thought that Bill's was in
the Michaux State Forest. This is all from memory so I might be comically
wrong. I'm headed to Pine Grove for a camping weekend with some friends and if
there will be flying at Bill's and it's close by, I'll try and drag some people
over to watch with awe and wonder. And to shuttle vehicles to the LZ.

I'd love to fly too but I haven't flown in almost a year and my last foot
launch was even further back in time. Those two reasons are sufficient to stay
on the ground but add to it the 'perform for your friends' factor it goes off
the charts. Too bad I won't be home to fly Oregon Ridge... :-( This camping
trip had better be really fun.

Thanks,

Dave

Bill's is in Buchanan State Forest. Bill's is close to Breezewood and
Michaux State Forest is east of Chambersburg. No idea about Pine Grove
Furnace.

The Wind Riders have a great site spotter on their website:
http://www.wrhgc.org/siteGlobalPositions.html.

Have a great time with your friends and come on out and fly again soon!

Daniel

Pine Grove Funace appears to be on SR3008 about 1/3 mile East of SR233 in
Cumberland County, PA. Approximately N40 02.005, W77 17.920 right on the
Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

Please come early to Bill's Hill on Saturday and bring implements (lopers, weedeaters, chainsaws) to clean up the hill. I hear there isn't that much left to do, so cleanup should be short work, especially if everybody shows up and does some work.

I hope the road is open again, so people won't have to find the alternate route. Could somebody post the alternate route again, just in case?

Thanks
