XC and GPS help

Post by Lauren Tjaden »

Paul and I will be out at Highland Thursday (tomorrow) and will probably fly some XC task. We are happy to help anyone on a one to one basis, including help with how to put in courses and use of instruments. Friday looks like it might be too strong, but we will also be available on Saturday to help (in the morning, before we fly. Of course you are welcome to fly with us, too.).
We should clarify what we mean by help with instruments. Paul and I both are good on the 5030; I am good on the 76C and Paul on the regular 76, and we have some knowledge of other GPSs. However, neither of us is capable of getting the 76 instruments to interface with varios. While we can teach you how to put in a course, or a start time, start circle, or other tasks related to competing, you need to have basic knowledge of how to use your instrument.
Hope you can make it out!

Just checked the weather--looks pretty crappy sunday through tuesday! Blipper NAMs confirm lighter Thursday than stronger Friday--but I've seen the opposite from other sources.
