Lessee: Carlos, Joe Brauch, Yanni, Glenn, a Spanish-speaking associate of Glenn's named Pino who was seeing gliders for the first time, Mark Gardiner, John Middleton, Mark Cavanaugh and Laszlo. There were horse-trailers in the set-up area. The horse people watched launches appreciatively. Early arrivals hang-waited much of the day for the big winds to back down, which they had by 4:45 when I arrived. Carlos flew first for 11 minutes. John had the flight of the day - he said he got tired working to get/stay up. Glenn had a good soaring flight. The rest of us had sleds/extendos as the wind died off markedly. I flew both HG and PG - thanks to Carlos for staying and bringing my vehicle down. Cavanaugh, Carlos and I closed the site for the day, watching the sunset afterglow and the lights coming on in the valley - what a gorgeous time and place. Some folks were gathering morel mushrooms by the ridge road. Thanks, Shawn, and everybody else who cleaned the site on Saturday. - Hugh

Thanks Hugh, but it was a handful of us that did plenty of work. I say a handful!David Bodner,-(always there!) Bruce Engen, Dennis S., Mark G., George T., Kathy C.,Rich Hays,. That's all I can think of off the top of my head... That being said, The number of pilots that show up to help are few.If you show up to work parties, and help this isn't for you! This is for the guilty pilots,( yes i'm talking to you!) that I have never seen at a work party period!Oh, you have nooooo problem showing up to fly the site, but never show up to sweat! The ratio is tooooo big.... PATHETIC! Paying your dues are not enough! It takes work to fly our beloved mountain sites. If you do show up to work....Work. That means - don't swing your tool once, or twice, clip a twig or two, and talk about flying, new gliders, great flights, Blah Blah, Blah. There will be plenty of time for that later......
Yes, you may get a blister on your thumb!
Please, don't reply to this. Just soak it in! If you have any problems with what i'm typing, look me up the next time you see me face to face.
I would be more than happy to discuss it with you!!!!
I think Matthew said about a work party to fix the PG launch at the Pulpit.
I don't even fly PG, but i'll do what I can.
I hope you will as well!
Peace be with you,
Have a nice day!!!!
Shawn.
