Possible Ridgely Friday?

Post by Batman »

Depending on Forecast, I'm going to attempt to take a day of leave on Friday to aerotow. Current forecast is for 66 degrees, winds ESE5. Not an incredible XC forecast, but nice flying none the less. Anyone thinking the same?

Try Bills on Saturday. Paragliders will love it, and it may end up soarable for hangies as well.

So far, Friday looks approved for a day off. I'm planning on heading to Ridgely after the morning traffic clears, but am open to flying anywhere. Email me or call me (703) 889-0894 if you care to play hookie with me!

I'm thinking of hitting Bill's on Friday and camping over, since it looks flyable both days. I'll bring the club's new mondo-weedwhacker to test out. If you come up and find a missing limb laying on the hill, you'll know what happened.

If you come up, I encourage you to bring implements of destruction. Weedwhackers and lopping shears are best. Long sleeves and leather gloves, too. Temperatures should be ideal.

Someone correct me, but I think we're planning an official Bill's Hill cleanup the following weekend. But, if it gets done this weekend...

Not to be selfish, but this is the first day I've been able to take off during the week to fly in over 2 years. I'm going to lean towards flying vice using instruments of destruction to clear brush piles. If I want to work, I don't have to burn hard earned leave to do that! lol. Also, Ridgely is about an hour closer with the traffic on a Friday!

I'm heading to Ridgely tomorrow (Thursday) with plans to stay until Sunday evening and work on my landings and flare timing - and to get my new harness adjusted so I can get more upright. So, Chris, if you decide on Ridgely, you won't be alone.
