Saturday or Sunday?

Post by Batman »

Its looks more for a potential of rain in the mountains on Saturday, as of this afternoons forecast. I might fly Ridgely instead (better forecast) if I fly on Saturday, although I might be convinced to postpone for a mountain flight on Sunday. What are everyone elses thoughts for the weekend outlook?

Ideally both

Saw the 30% chance of showers in the Shenandoah Valley on Saturday. Tomorrow evening's surface pressure map shows a magenta line (upper level disturbance) lined up to advance from the NW around the L. Hard to say. It is the season for these kind of events (showers pinwheeling around a stationary spinning low over the Canadian maritimes). Sunday is a sure bet, and should be launchable at the Pulpit as well, albeit strong.
Wait and see.

With the benefit of a closer forecast I see Saturday looking good for Ridgely and clearing up for an afternoon flight out of Woodstock.

Sunday also looks good for the mountains.

I expect more unstable air on Saturday, but possible localized regions of too much instability.

In a perfect world I could fly both days. To wrap it up in a nut shell, I say "I don't know". Maybe leaning towards Sunday.

I am hoping for some X-C, wherever I go.

We're leaning towards Sunday. Sunnier and warmer. Looks like Woodstock.

But who knows????

Maybe a bi-wingwal day!!!!!

I hope to see S'burg, also. Sunday looks better so far. We'll see.

I'm going to try Smithsburg Saturday morning... if it doesn't pan out, there's always Sunday!

Suzie & I are doing the Farmers Market on Saturday morning and hanging out in Old Town. Sunday looks like a good flying day ... I'm shooting for then!
