Looking better for Bills versus Jacks on Saturday. With a dewpoint of 10 degrees right now, and a temp of 60, the ground should be bone dry on Saturday.

Kite Festival
Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to come out and help at the kite festival. Too bad there aren't more of you.

Got to Bills at 11:30A to find it blowing in 5 to 10. The high clouds slowly dissipated while I waited for the PGers to show up. Tom Cuenen arrived with his wife and son around 12:15P, quickly took off, sank, and found a light thermal near the LZ and got up. He ended up flying for about 2 hours and landed in the Wells Tannery valley right behind launch by Rt. 915. His wife and son retrieved him. Laszlo took off in nice conditions and soon he and Tom were 1K' over just above launch. Laszlo tried to top land but came in a little too high and landed in the LZ. Other PGers who showed up and sledded were Stephan, Jeff Eggitz, and Ellis. I took off after Ellis and found some lift to the north of launch that briefly got me up just above launch. It was short-lived, so I headed out to the LZ, getting some shots of lift on the way but too small to 360 in. Had a nice landing to the NE. Climbed the mountain to retrieve the truck. Gave Ellis and Laszlo a ride back to launch. As I left Laszlo was contemplating taking another flight.

Yep, I took off right after Bacil left, soared for a while, then top landed (I needed this for mental health after I missed it earlier), then launched and soared again, and finally landed after about an hour. Ellis -- who was walking her dogs while I was flying -- picked me up, and we drove back to the top. It was still coming straight in, although a bit weaker. Ellis launched and had an extendo, and I picked her up. Four flights for me, three for Ellis -- nice day.
Bacil, many thanks for the ride up, and also for the excellent weather forecast!
