Jacks Saturday?

Post by XCanytime »

Hoping for a late day (after 2PM) Jacks day Saturday. Been 3 years since I've flown Jacks so I'm looking forward to it.

Is Jacks HG or both HG/PG?

PG at Jacks

Post by Matthew »

You can launch a PG at Jacks. It ain't easy though. You either have to stand behind the gaurdrail and have at least two people help to throw the canopy up into the wind as you do a backwards running reverse. Once the glider is overhead, you may need a butt push if you get lifted off of your feet before you get to the gaurdrail. OR... you can climb down into the slot. You'll need at least two, preferably three, people to hold your wing down so it doesn't inflate prematurely. Once situated, you tell the people holding the wing down to let go and then you GENTLY lift it overhead doing a reverse and then turn around quickly and run like a bat out of hell. Either way you have to have good canopy control and be very good at doing reverse launches.

It's kinda like an assted HG clif launch with help from three other pilots.

So does this mean tha Bacil will be slacking off and not helping out at the kite festival?????

Sounds like a Hawaii launch. Unimproved and not for the faint of heart.
