Bills Hill Sunday

Post by hepcat1989 »

My friend Kenny and I arrived at Bills LZ around 12:30.We met up with Rusty T. to walk the field and put out some streamers. We all went back up to launch to see what was what. There were a few PG'ers there and flying,( Ellis, Laslo, Stephan, Paul?,and some others.) I started setting up.
We then watched Laslo launch, scratch and scrape and then head out to the LZ. He didn't make it. He landed in the trees. He managed to land in a hole or something. He recovered all his gear and himself and flew a few more times!
I moved over to launch and waited. ( It was light) Jim R. arrived back to launch and Joe B. showed as well as Mark G.Most of the PG'ers arrived back to launch.
I launched at 2:20 after finally getting 5-10 to come up through.Kenny had my wind gauge and later told me it read 5-6 mph when I went.?
I was heading out front when I got into one and just stayed with it and hung in there .I got angry with it and didn't want to lose it. I was reading 600fpm for a while and drifted it slowly back to the ridge with 800 over. I then went back out front to fly around and try to do it again. I was then getting down to 200 over. I did a wing over in front of launch and headed out to try and find another ride. I was able to work what felt to me was " bubbles" over the LZ for a while longer.
25 mins, 800 over, no ridge lift. It was nice and warm out yesterday. No gloves needed!
I had fun!
Peace, Shawn.
