Sorry about your incident. It's quite fortunate you didn't get more hurt. Do you have an estimated wind speed?

Let me know if you'd like to take a Sport 2 155 with standard control frame on short- or long-term loan.
Allan estimated 6 to 8 MPH. Thanks for the reply and the offer.

Blown Launch at Woodstock 5/24

I blew my launch at Woodstock around 1P on Saturday 5/24. I sustained abrasions on my inner left leg and outer right leg, abrasions on my right elbow, and a cut on the fleshy part of the right elbow requiring 2 staples. The glider sustained 2 broken downtubes and some trailing edge sail scuff near t...

Ravens Haven short XC

The usual suspects returned to Ravens Haven yesterday. I got there at 9A, finding moderate to strong conditions and plenty of lighter cycles to launch in. Untangled some streamers that I installed last Sunday. Skies were cirrus filled; no cumies present. Will showed up around 9:30A, Allan showed up ...

Return to Ravens Haven after a 20 year hiatus

Due to the current insurance situation w/ the SAC, Allan Bawell, Will Hynla, and I opted to fly Ravens Haven yesterday. I arrived at 10A and put in streamers in the slot, set up the glider, and waited for Will and Allan to show up. It was already soarable, w/ lotsa clouds in the sky. Will was first ...

The SAC 7/1

Headed to the SAC after working in the AM. Lost an hour in traffic in Harrisburg and on I-81 on the way up. Arrived just after 3P to cumie filled skies and moderate conditions. Joe Gorrie arrived a few minutes after me, then Allan Bawell got there around 3:30P. Joe and Allan assisted my elevator lau...

Re: The SAC 2/24

Took the scenic route to launch, checking out LZs in the valley behind Mahantango Mountain near the plateau where Schuylkill County Airport is located. At launch the snow was piled up at the base of the earthen mound, courtesy of the county plows. Didn't have a shovel, so the foot shovel was used (b...

The SAC 2/2

Headed to the SAC after getting off of work at 11:20A. Got to launch around 2P, finding Allan setting up his glider. Proceeded to set up my glider quickly. The conditions were moderate to strong, and the temps were just above 40 degrees. The sky was OD'ed. This was to be the maiden flight of my glid...

Woodstock Sunday Oct. 22nd

Got to launch just after 9A. Already soarable, w/ smooth straight in winds. Set up and waited for Alex to arrive. He got there about 10:15A. By this time the sky had opened up and conditions on launch had strengthened. I waited for some lulls to arrive, which they did soon after. Got on launch, felt...
