Re: Woodstock Sun03Nov
I'm hopeful. LZ ETA @12. I've messaged a few potential observers. No hookup yet.

Re: Flying Saturday
I'm hopeful for Woodstock on Sunday. I will need an observer. I flew there 2 weeks ago--a safe sled ride observed by John M. and Steve K.--and should be able to meet in LZ @12.

A Thick, Ugly Humerus Story
I broke my arm on October 30th, 2005 while landing after a two-hour ridge soaring flight from the Pulpit. I flared late and attempted to run it out in soft, ruddy ground in the northwest corner of the upper field of the Pulpit’s main LZ, but I lost my footing and fell forward. I think that I put my ...

How's Wesley?
Today's X-rays show that the screws are holding and the bone pieces connected to the elbow and shoulder are still in position and the third (non-fixated) bone piece is in good enough position for the gap to eventually fill in, but we can't yet see calcium growth. I haven't yet experienced much impro...

Sunday Accident (long)
Thank you for all the well-wishes, and to John Simon, who made quick effort to get to the LZ to check me out, Cragin, who made my splint and captained the rescue squad, Carlos, who made a tv-commercial-like drive (in his new 4Runner) to get me out, and MCav and Scott for your assistance. My Conditio...

Training Hill Sunday?
I'm looking to fly a training hill tomorrow, but I suspect John and Rich are
at Hyner, and I don't have anyone to bring along. Is anyone headed to a
local t-hill on Sunday?

Bills Friday -- Access
What's the access situation at Bill's? Is the alternate road accessible in a Civic? --Wesley >From: "hankh2rbc" <hankh@shentel.net> >Reply-To: hg_forum@chgpa.org >To: hg_forum@chgpa.org >Subject: Bills Friday >Date: Thu, 14 Apr 2005 08:21:00 -0400 > >Looks like it will be good at Bills Fri...

WS Tuesday
It was easily soarable, strong at times, and predominately very smooth. I launched at 3 and headed North, Steve Kinsley observed and launched soon after. I was very conservative with altitude and made slow progress at 8-13 over, rarely finding thermals and with a few manageable penetration episodes....

HR Sun: First Bonehead Launch
On my second flight of the day, which was also my second flight at High Rock, and after thoroughly buying-in to the light-wind HR procedure--start launch run like normal, trade strides for altitude when off the rock--and after being properly briefed by my observer, I tried to cram a full launch run ...
